Club Social Events - Winter 2008

February 29: Movie Night! This is a fun filled evening for the whole family and is open to all members and guests. Begining at 7:00, we will be showing Hoosiers, a sports film for the whole family. This is is a 1986 movie about a small-town Indiana high school basketball team that wins the state championship. Hoosiers was voted one of the best sports films of all time by the readers of USA Today. A $5 fee will cover pizza, snacks and a drink.

March 8: 80's Dance! We are throwing an old fashioned 80's dance party and we need you and your most significant other there. It's springtime 1983. You have been invited to Delta Omega Beta (the most fun, but certainly not the best or most exclusive frat on campus...frankly, your blood is just not that blue!) You just finished a killer test and you need to blow off a little steam. You show up, casually dressed, head over to the keg, say hello to the brothers and before you know it, you're boogeying up a storm to "The Cars," "the B-52s" and a slew of bands you know are one-hit wonders. That test is a distant memory and you are dancing with reckless abandon and you look pretty good. This is despite your complete lack of rhythm and no musical ear whatsoever...those are not impediments, it doesn't matter, it's 80's music, whose best attribute is a simple electronic beat.

Okay, back to reality. Your back hurts. You just spent all day at some brain sucking kid event. You then morphed into taxi driver and your role as the human ATM machine for your gifted and talented progeny. DO NOT TURN ON THE TELEVISION. Instead, come join us (sans kids), relax, have a drink or two, chow down on some party munchies, and let's remember those fun days. "Come on Eileen" lets dance to this mindless, insipid music.

Fee: $40 per couple, $20 per single, includes dj, dancing, and all the adult beverage your spouse will let you consume. Those who pay in advance $35 per couple and $15 per single. Party food and non alcoholic drink alternatives will also be offered. No Rich is not trying to make a profit on this...all proceeds will be donated to the Pool which needs help.

Dress code: Very spring casual and your best 80's garb.

Time: 8:00 till 12:00 (yeah, let's see you last that long,..you have a soccer tournament to attend on Sunday.)
